Ciberacoso, personalidad y síntomas psicopatológicos en adolescentes y jóvenes

El ciberacoso se asocia con impactos en la salud mental de víctimas y agresores. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la relación entre las dos formas de acoso cibernético: victimización (medida a través del Cuestionario de Victimización Cibernética- CYVIC) y agresión (medida a través del Cuestionario de Agresión Cibernética- CYBA), rasgos de personalidad (medidos a través del Inventario de Personalidad de Diez - TIPI) y síntomas psicopatológicos (medidos a través del Inventario Breve de Síntomas - BSI). La muestra estuvo conformada por 553 adolescentes y adultos jóvenes, con edades entre 17 y 30 años. Los resultados sugieren que el 59,7% (n=330) de los participantes fueron objeto de al menos una conducta de ciberacoso y el 21,0% (n=116) practicaron al menos una de estas conductas. Finalmente, se encontró un efecto predictivo positivo de las dimensiones psicoticismo, sensibilidad interpersonal, somatización e ideación paranoide sobre la cibervictimización, así como un efecto predictivo negativo de las dimensiones extraversión y amabilidad sobre la ciberagresión. Se destaca la necesidad de trabajar en la prevención de estas conductas, considerando los impactos que tienen sobre la salud mental; y la investigación, prevención e intervención deben enfocarse en estudiar y trabajar con todos los involucrados en estas conductas.
