Abstract

The coronavirus disease pandemic brought challenges in health care, and the crisis made of the remote consultation an alternative for the continuity of patient care. Remote consultation has advantages; however, some limitations should be considered. It is presented in the case of an 18-year-old woman with respiratory symptoms of three months of evolution that required management in an intensive care unit. During confinement, she showed acute respiratory symptoms without significant deterioration in the general state. The teleconsultation, with the doctor's assistance, the laryngeal stridor was only a positive finding. This sign oriented the handling of the case and showed some advantages and limitations of telemedicine in times of crisis and possibly in regular times.
