Abstract
La práctica neuropsicológica (evaluación – rehabilitación) asistida por computadora constituye un escenario para la investigación interdisciplinaria en la que convergen la tecnología informática y las neurociencias. El propósito del presente artículo es revisar los alcances, limitaciones y posibilidades de las prácticas neuropsicológicas asistida por computadora. Se presenta una breve reseña histórica de la evaluación neuropsicológica y de la introducción de las computadoras en dicho proceso, así como su uso en los programas de rehabilitación, y finalmente se presentan los principales beneficios, dificultades y perspectivas de la introducción de las computadoras en los procedimientos de medición, evaluación e intervención en neuropsicología. ABSTRACT Computer assisted neuropsychological practice (assessment –rehabilitation) is a setting for interdisciplinary research in which technology and neurological science are connected. The purpose of this article is to review the scope, limitations and possibilities of computer assisted neurological practice. Also, a brief historical overview about neurological assessment and the implementation of computers in the above mentioned process are included, as well as their use in rehabilitation programs. Finally, this paper presents, the main benefits, difficulties and perspectives of computer implementation in procedures of measurement, assessment and intervention in neuropsychology.
