DIMENSIONES PSICOPATOLÓGICAS EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS (Psychopathological dimensions in college students)
Abstract

Abstract
This paper presents the results of a non-experimental study of cross-sectional prevalence type, to determine the psychopathological dimensions presented in a group of college students from the city of Cali (Colombia). The symptom Check list 90-R Spanish version (Derogatis, 1994), and the BDI-II Beck Depression Inventory II, (Beck 1996) were administered to 340 participants. The results suggest that most of the students do not show psychopathological symptoms, and among those who have presented them, symptoms such as paranoid ideation, hostility, obsession-compulsion and depression have been indentified. Related to psychopathology, significant differences are distinguished according to gender variables, especially in the depression dimension. It was found; the main stress factors are related to economic, job and family domains, being the last one the most associated factor.
