CARACTERÍSTICAS NEUROPSICOLÓGICAS DE NIÑOS PREESCOLARES CON TRASTORNO POR DÉFICIT DE ATENCIÓN CON HIPERACTIVIDAD (Neuropsychological characteristics in pre-scholar children with attention deficit disorder with hiperactivity)
Abstract
Through qualitative analysis of errors and particular features observed during the implementation of brief neuropsychological assessment tasks and child care, we compare the characteristics of the executions of Mexican preschool children with ADD and children without any disorder. The results reveal significant differences in favor of children without ADD, while children with ADHD show a neuropsychological profile characterized by a severe functional deficit in the programming and control mechanisms, motor sequential organization, spatial analysis and synthesis and nonspecific brain activation. The ADD is, therefore, a complex neuropsychological syndrome in which they are involved, as well as the difficulties in the process of attention and other cognitive functions in isolation, various psychological processes and brain mechanisms.
