NECESIDADES ESPECÍFICAS DE PROTECCIÓN DE LOS NIÑOS, NIÑAS Y ADOLESCENTES COLOMBIANOS REFUGIADOS EN ECUADOR. (Specific protection needs of Colombian Children and Adolescents refugees in Ecuador)
Abstract
Se presenta información estadística sobre dos características demográficas (sexo y lugar de residencia) de los niños, niñas y adolescentes (NNA) colombianos en Necesidad de Protección Internacional (NPI) que viven en Ecuador. A continuación se han analizado las variables relativas a tres necesidades específicas de protección: situación familiar, educativa y de salud, diferenciada según la ubicación geográfica en la que se encuentran. Para la descripción de los datos se analizó una fuente de información primaria proporcionada por el Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados (ACNUR). Los resultados señalan que la mayoría de los NNA viven en alguna de las provincias de la frontera norte ecuatoriana, existiendo paridad en cuanto a sexos. De las necesidades de protección analizadas se destaca la existencia de un número significativo de menores separados y no acompañados que presentan una elevada vulnerabilidad a enfrentar dificultades escolares y/o psicológicas.

ABSTRACT
This paper presents two statistical information on demographic characteristics (sex and living place) of Colombian children and adolescents who live in Ecuador and require International Protection. Three specific protection variables related to three specific necessities protection needs were taking into account: family situation, education and health, all of them differentiated by the geographic location where they are. For taking data description a primary source of information provided by the High Commissioner for Refugees was analyzed (UNHCR). The results showed that most of the children and adolescents, with an equivalence in regard of gender, live in some provinces of the northern border of Ecuador. Considering the protection needs, a significant sample of separated children without any attendance were analyzed, having as a result a high level of vulnerability to face scholar and / or psychological difficulties.
