Depresión en la pérdida gestacional: identificación de factores de riesgo y protección

La pérdida gestacional es un evento profundamente doloroso para los padres que lo experimentan. Este dolor puede generar síntomas como estado de ánimo deprimido, estrés y dificultad para dormir, a menudo asociados con la depresión. Por lo tanto, identificar los factores de riesgo y protección relacionados con la depresión en la pérdida gestacional es esencial para planificar intervenciones eficaces de prevención y atención. El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar factores asociados con la depresión en casos de pérdida gestacional. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal y analítico con una muestra no probabilística por conveniencia, compuesta por 166 individuos que sufrieron pérdida gestacional. Los participantes completaron cuestionarios sociodemográficos y clínicos, además de ocho instrumentos adicionales para medir potenciales predictores de depresión. Los datos fueron analizados por estadística descriptiva y analítica. Los resultados mostraron correlaciones positivas entre la depresión y las variables de color/raza e impacto del luto en el funcionamiento biopsicossocial. Se correlacionaron negativamente con la depresión las variables escolaridad, ingresos familiares, tiempo desde la pérdida, número de hijos vivos, apoyo social percibido y afrontamiento. El análisis de regresión lineal múltiple indicó que el impacto del duelo en el funcionamiento biopsicossocial y los recursos de afrontamiento influyen en los niveles prolongados de luto. Se concluyó que los individuos negros, con menor escolaridad, bajos ingresos familiares, sin hijos vivos, menos recursos de afrontamiento y mayor impacto biopsicossocial del luto presentan indicadores más altos de depresión en la pérdida gestacional.
