RESPUESTA INFLAMATORIA DOS CEMENTOS PARAENDODONCIA CON BASE EN ÓXIDO DE ZINC EUGENOL INOCULADOS EN EL TEJIDO SUBCUTÁNEO DE RATAS

Resumen

El objetivo de la investigación fue el de observar el grado de reacción inflamatoria que se produce en el tejido conectivo subcutáneo de ratas cuando se pone en contacto con dos diferentes cementos para endodoncia.- Se tomaron 21 ratas y a cada una se le implantaron tubos de teflón con cada uno de los cementos recién mezclados y un tubo vacío como control. Los animales se sacrificaron a los 15,30 Y 60 días para evaluar la reacción inflamatoria.- A los 15 días el material más irritante fue el cemento Proquident, que produjo siempre una inflamación severa, mientras que el cemento de Grossfar indujo una inflamación moderada. A los 30 días el más irritante fue el cemento de Grossfar (inflamación leve). A los 60 días el más irritante fue el cemento Proquident (inflamación entre leve y moderada). La demostrada acción irritante de estos dos cementos persistió inclusive después de los 60 días. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of inflammatory response of rat subcutaneous tissue to two different endodontic cements (Proquident and Grossfar). Each of 21 rats was inoculated with teflon test tubes containing the cements. Animals were sacrificed 15, 30 and 60 days after the inoculations to evaluate inflarnmatory reactions.- After 15 days all of the Proquident cement sections were classified as having severe inflarnmation while the Grossfar cement ones presented a moderate respon-se. After 30 days, the Grossfar cement showed to be more irritant than the Proquident cement and after 60 days the Proquident cement group exhibited moderate and mild inflarnmatory response while the Grossfar cement group presented mild, and in some cases, absence of inflarnmatory response. In conclusion, a persistent inflarnmatory response was observed in connective subcutaneous rat tissue even after 60 days of inoculation with both zinc-oxide-eugenol based cements.
