Abstract

Swine influenza is an endemic disease in pig farms in Colombia, which canhave a negative impact on public health and the pork industry. The mainobjective of this study was to establish the association between seroreactivityand characteristics of production systems of pig farms. Multivariatelogistic regression was done to prove whether there was an associationbetween the variables, we picked out the variables that had statisticallysignificant at the X2 test. Also, the model working systematically from bivariateand multivariate analysis. The model validation was check the fitand discrimination thereof. The results showed that the full cycle farmhave an OR of 1.36 and fattening farm an OR of 1.079, likewise on post-weaningstage (OR 6.58), zero female births (OR 5.08) and fattening (OR 4.95)more likely to be seropositive SIV, likewise, farms with a greater number ofbreeding sows have an OR of 1.82. We were identified factors related to externaland internal biosecurity and serological testing of pigs on post-weaningstage and replacement sows before admission to the farm or the newshed, points that should be considered in health management programsfor control of infections caused by SIV.
