A selection of 21 bitches undergoing elective ovariohysterectomy were randomly assigned in one of two anesthetic protocols as follows: Group R Diazepam-propofol-remifentanil (n = 10) and group K Diazepam-propofol-ketamine (n: 11). All patients were intubated and were measured blood pressure (BP), esophageal temperature (Temp), heart rate (HR), pulse oximetry (PSO2), level of carbon dioxide expiration (CO2), capillary refi ll time (LL) , the duration of anesthesia (Dur.), the time between the end of surgery and the onset of the cough refl ex (Tusig.) and the time between the end of surgery and the onset of spontaneous movement (Mov).
